Automotive norms compliance, Autosar, ISO26262

The Automotive Industry has choosen the Autosar Software Architecture as a standard for its embedded software development. Autosar is developed jointly by car manufacturers, subcontractors and tool suppliers.

The goals of this standard are to pave the way for innovation in systems electronics for more performance, dependability and control of consumption. The Autosar Consortium also aims to establish a strong partnership which aims to “cooperate for the standard and compete for the implementation”.

From a technical point of view, standardization makes it possible to manage complexity growing electronic systems. It helps prepare for the arrival of future technologies and manage efficiency costs without reducing quality. It also facilitates the exchange and update of software and materials throughout the life of the vehicle.

The static configuration of all the modules makes it possible to create a generic platform while keeping a reduced memory footprint. The AUTOSAR Architecture also generalizes techniques which allow to configure the various memory locations in fine detail by module. Responsibility for a bug is thus clearly established and easily correctable even in a static configuration.

Hepsylon Ltd has the technical capacity to bring added value in several stages of the design of an embedded software, respecting the Autosar Standard .
